Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production almost ready
about 5 years ago – Thu, Apr 04, 2019 at 02:59:00 AM

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Production for Snowdonia is almost done, all the difficult parts are either in production or ready, so... next week we will go to Shanghai to check if everything is OK.

We will go through each game component and see if the print quality is all right, and also provide instructions for assembly.

We will post another update from the factory where we should see a final production copy of the whole game.

Have a great week,

Andrei

A Mountain of Cards!
about 5 years ago – Sat, Mar 16, 2019 at 02:47:22 AM

Ladies and Gentlemen!

We are happy to announce that Snowdonia Deluxe Master Set has mostly gone to print now! Before that happened, we had had a few big things to do, one of them being climbing an actual mountain of cards:

-

This unruly heap of card decks and ziplock bags includes 699 cards you will find in your Snowdonia Deluxe Master Set boxes (plus blank cards not pictured above). To make the mountain we had all cards printed and cut in order to look through each and every one of them and make sure that everything is up to par.

The eagle-eyed of you have probably already noticed that corners on these cards are not rounded. Fear not - these are very early proofs made only for the purposes of making final corrections to graphic design and texts. The final product will come on real, high quality cards.

That being said, let's take a look at a few of these decks!

-

How many train cards will Snowdonia include? That many! All with their own, completely new back. As with other cards, you won't have to flip them to find exactly what you are looking for.

-

Here is one of the all new expansions: Malta Railway in all its glory. As you can see, (almost) no new content comes with any changes that would make it stick out. The precision and clarity of graphic design by Klemens Franz is with us all the way!

-

We have mentioned new backs on multiple occasions. While track cards are double-sided and require flipping in-game, and while contract cards have always had backs with an in-game function, every other type of card is single-sided. Did we mention how much easier it makes to find the stuff you are looking for?

-

The Once and Future Train - probably the only expansion that strays rather far from Snowdonia aesthetics when it comes to art - but still uses the same clear graphic design language to communicate its functionalities.

-

Finally, the Wagons Expansion. You have asked us mutliple time about them, and now here they are. No longer tokens - now they are their own card expansion found within Snowdonia Deluxe Master Set.

To wrap this up, we would like to remind you that it is you who made all this possible. Thank you, and have a great day!

Both sides of the board!
about 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 26, 2019 at 02:05:53 AM

Ladies and Gentlemen!

With Snowdonia Deluxe Master Set moving forward every day, we would like to finally show you something you have asked us to share some time ago: the board. To be exact, we would like to present you with pre-final versions of both sides of the board.

Before we begin, please note that the boards are not presented exactly as they will appear in your game boxes: these images will still be adjusted to the actual boards, which means that some of the bleed visible in the images will disappear with the final product.

So, let us jump straight into the new side of the board:

 -

Created by Mateusz Stanisławski, the new side takes a more eagle-eyed view at Snowdon, bringing together the clean graphic design of the classic board, and adding a few visual twists.

On the other side we find a more classic version of the Snowdonia board:

 -

Overhauled by its original creator Klemens Franz, the new board adds a few new functionalities to the game (like the track running around the board) to a truly iconic image you have come to know and love.

Functionally, both sides are identical - you can choose to play any scenario on any side, following your own preferences.

Thank you and have a great day!

A preview of the insert
about 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 19, 2019 at 12:42:02 AM

Ladies & Gents,

We have been working with GameTrayz to get an awesome plastic insert for Snowdonia, one which you wil be able to use to keep the myriad of components in good order.

You can see below a 3d render of the first part of the insert, but we expect it to look just as good in reality:

Soon we will return with a production update and more images with new components.

Have a great week,

Andrei

Reporting live from China
over 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 08, 2019 at 09:20:30 PM

Ladies & Gentlemen,

After the winter holidays (sorry for the silence) we kept busy and now I am in Shanghai, China, visiting the factory which is manufacturing Snowdonia, trying to negotiate the schedule, and check quality of components once again.

So, in short, this is what's going on...

1. Wooden componets

The gazillion wooden parts are in production. This was supposed to be ready at the end of the year, but since we increased our order after seeing the results from the pledge manager, we had to ask them to make more. On top of our added pieces, we asked them to double check the numbers of wooden pieces in each sets, to avoid issues. Miscounting wooden pieces is more common than anyone wishes and it leads to frustration. We hope that with the added layer of quality control, we can reduce the numbers of miscounts to under 1.5%.

Wooden components are expected to be ready right after the Chinese New Year.

2. The Chinese New Year

Speaking of the devil... these massive holidays are bringing China to a halt, so production will resume around 20-Feb (yes, it's a whole month).

3. Printed materials

The mass printing will begin right after the Chinese New Year (by then all samples will get approved) and will finish in about 3 weeks.

4. Assembly

This is the tricky part. Because there are so many components to put in the box (350+ wooden pieces, 13 decks of cards, etc) the assembly process wil take (a lot) longer than usual, we're looking at 30 days for this process alone.

With all of these in mind, we estimate about 30 to 60 days of delays for final delivery. We want to allow our factory to do a good job and we won't rush them unnecessarily.

This also gives us the time to get all cards triple checked (Tony himself is involved in the process).

With our apologies, please keep in mind that we're doing our best to get the best possible components in this box.

The next update will come towards the end of February, when we will get news from the factory.

Have a great beginning of the year,

Andrei
